Purchasing the Correct Car
February 25th, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedSo lately I have been looking to with buy a BMW or buy a Mercedes, but since visiting garages around my local area I have realised that a lot of the smaller vehicles which are also a lot less pricey might be the better option for me.
The biggest reason that I lost my love for big Cars was because they drink so much petrol and emit so much pollution. So after a long consideration I have whittled myself to look at a selection of new Cars with small engines, below is a few positives and negatives that I am weighing my decision on.
1) The 1st vehicle to catch my attention was a 1.2 engine, I know this would end up being very practical, in terms of fuel price for me, but the negative aspect is that it will not get me anywhere quickly enough and I am the type of person that is always in a dash.
2) My second choice was a 1.6 Turbo, this would be able to keep up with me but my only worry was how much petrol it would consume.
3) The third one to catch my attention was the two litre turbo diesel, this would be very efficient for me but again with the rising prices of fuel it may cost me quite a bit.
4) Well the best was saved until last, and I would have chosen an electric car if there were more charge points in the UK. So if the government hurry up then I may get myself a eco friendly car which does not pollute the environment.
At this moment in time, I feel that I have no option but to go for the diesel, although not great for the planet it will certainly save me alot on my wallet.
Auto Auctions Starting To Be Extremely Commonplace, As Well As Accessible
February 22nd, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedWith the strong growth and widespread presence of eBay, the titan of online auction houses, buying and selling through auctions has become more acceptable, more commonplace and more accessible to millions. Even though there have been auto auctions for many years for liquidating repossessed and seized Cars, used Car Auctions are becoming used for more general purposes, partly because of the influence of eBay.
In general, people who are ready to make an auto purchase love to shop at auctions because they can very often pick up an exceptional deal that they might not have ever been able to get through any other avenue. At the same time, sellers also like selling their products through auctions. Once a prospective buyer makes a decision to bid on an item, even if it is a low bid, they have mentally made the decision that they want the item and they become attached to the idea of owning it. When another bidder comes along, it can be easy for this mindset to translate into a bidding war and often the ultimate price is better than the seller could have hoped for.
These same principles apply for all kinds of auctions, not just auto auctions. There are many instances of a buyer getting a real steal on an auction vehicle, especially if there weren’t any other bidders interested in the same car. And, sellers of an auction car sometimes can benefit when two or three bidders have gotten attached to the vehicle they are selling.
For many years, buying a car through an auction meant that the buyer was purchasing a model from a selection of repossessed Cars, or Cars that had been seized and were made available through government auctions. There were also many types of specialized Car Auctions that were not open to the public.
But, today, things have changed considerably and now there are more options than ever in automobile auctions that the public can take advantage of, as well as dealers and other industry insiders. These days it is not unusual for banks, credit unions, and finance companies to hold public Car Auctions to deal with the growing inventory of repossessed Cars that they have on their property. Salvage yards, body shops and auto repair shops are also known to engage the services of car auction houses to help them sell vehicles that have been abandoned or seized because the owner could not pay a repair bill.
There is one key point that bidders need to remember when buying automobiles through auto auctions. All sales are absolutely final and Cars are sold “as is.” Buying a car “as is” means that the buyer has no remedy available to them if the car they bought at a used car auction falls apart the minute they slam the door to drive home. If you are bidding on a newer car, then this might not be an issue at all, yet it might be better to let mechanics or dealers bid on the older Cars that need work.
Purchasing an automobile is constantly a large responsibility. However actually making that choice on where your going to purchase your new automobile is a big decision to make that you have to think through carefully. You have numerous options to choose from on where you can purchase your next car. You may buy it from a car lot or even off of EBay but have you considered local auto auctions as a place to get your next used car? Auto auctions are becoming quite popular. However there are some factors that you should certainly take into consideration prior to completing such a significant purchase from an auction. Are you getting the best deal for your money? What happens if something goes wrong? These are questions that you have to think about when it comes to your new purchase. The rest of this article we will focus on what care auctions actually are and in what ways they can either be a benefit or a disadvantage in your quest for a new care.
Why would I go to auto auctions?
Many people go to auto auctions because they can get a better deal on a car than they can at a local dealership. Many of the Cars sold at auctions are from repossessions or from individuals who want to sell their car but do not want to go through the hassle of listing it in the local newspaper. If you are looking to find a decent vehicle at a low price then you should definitely check out the local auto auctions held in your state. It may involve you driving a bit but it may well be worth it to find the auto that you have been looking for.
What forms of payment are accepted at auto auctions?
Each auction company has different rules about forms of payment. Some will accept a local check while others out of the area may not. Cash is always a good idea to have when you go to one of these auto auctions. If you buy your car from an online auto auction you may be able to pay with PayPal and then bring the rest in cash or a certified check when you go to pick up the vehicle. If you are unsure of what form of money to bring you can always call the auction company to see what forms of payment they accept.
Where do Car Auctions actually get their automobiles??
Auto auctions obtain their automobiles from various different sources. The Cars may be from repossessions foreclosed by the lender or the bank. Some Cars come from private owners who want to sell their car in an auction environment rather than through the newspaper. Ebay is an online auction site that has become very popular with quite a number of dealership who sell their inventory through that website.
Is the seller obliged to state any defects on the car?
There is a huge difference between what a seller should do and what they actually do. This is where ethics comes into play. If the seller knows that the engine is knocking or that the car has been wrecked they should disclose this knowledge to the public before bidding commences. Many states require that if a seller knows about a particular problem and does not disclose it, they can be held liable if the car breaks down after purchase. Basically it is the seller committing fraud against the buyer and fraud in all states is illegal.

Seized Car Auctions Are Loaded With Cheap Priced Cars and Trucks
February 18th, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedWith all of the economic problems that have been going on in the last couple of years, the number of people who are having their Cars repossessed by banks or seized by state and federal government agencies, like the IRS, is on the rise. This means that there are also more seized Car Auctions happening all the time and attending used Car Auctions is becoming more commonplace and is increasingly becoming a good way for people to save money when they need to get another car.
When people get behind on their car payments, it is common for the lending institution to take back the vehicle, especially if there is no way for the person to get caught up on missed loan payments. The result is that the larger banks, credit unions and finance companies are often overflowing with repossessed Cars and seized Cars that they need to sell through a seized car auction.
There are also times when a government agency has the power to seize Cars and put them into seized Car Auctions. This might happen because a person owes an excessive amount of money in taxes, or because a vehicle was used in the commission of a crime or was purchased with illegal gains, such as with drug money.
When lending institutions, banks, police departments, and various federal agencies end up with a growing number of Cars that have been seized or repossessed, they ultimately spend a lot of money to store these vehicles. In most cases, the people from whom the Cars were seized have either no recourse at all for getting the vehicle back or a short window of opportunity to get the vehicle back before the agency has the right to sell it off. If there is no longer any chance of the person being able to reclaim the vehicle, then it can be sold through a seized car auction, which the agencies prefer to do as soon as possible to minimize their storage expenses.
In many cases, a seized car auction can be a bargain hunters dream, enabling them to save hundreds, or even thousands of dollars, on a wide variety of Cars, truck, vans, recreational vehicles, and even boats and other recreational sports vehicles. These seized, motor Car Auctions provide people with terrific opportunities to get a better quality vehicle than they might otherwise have been able to afford. For those who are really lucky, they could be driving away with their dream car after only paying one quarter to one half of the amount that they might have paid, had they gone to a regular dealership.
Before attending seized Car Auctions you need to be sure to do some homework first. If you have a particular model in mind, then do some research to find out what the fair market value is. It is a good idea not to start bidding at the first used car auction you attend, but instead, watch the proceedings so that you can get a feel for the general buying environment and gain an understanding of how the entire car auto auction process works.

If Your Searching For a Great Low Cost Price On a Car or Truck Try Public Auto Auctions
February 18th, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedThere’s really no great mystery about why people get excited when they find a way to save money on items that they need or want. And, with big ticket items like Cars, even saving only 5 percent off the ticket price can mean saving several hundred dollars. One of the best ways to enjoy huge savings, in the realm of 20% to 50%, is to attend a public auto auction where you can get a steal of a deal on seized or repossessed Cars.
However, if you are thinking about going to a car auto auction for the first time to get a new vehicle for the family, then you do not want to go to the event without the proper knowledge and preparation. Without understanding the process and being properly prepared before going to motor Car Auctions, you could actually end up getting yourself into a bad deal and spending more money than if you had just shopped at a traditional car dealership.
If you want to avoid getting burned the first time to try to buy a car at a used car auction, then it is a good idea to follow the advice of others who are experienced public auto auction bidders. With their tips and expertise in mind, you will have a better chance of getting a super deal on a great car.
First of all, people need to understand some of the basic facts relating to public car auction proceedings. Most of these motor Car Auctions have vehicles that were seized by a government agency, such as the police, DEA or IRS, or that have been repossessed by a bank or financial institution. All of these used vehicles are sold 100% “as is” and they do not carry any kind of warranty or guarantee. Therefore, any problems with the car simply have to be dealt with by the winning bidder, who will have no recourse with the seller.
Also, if you get the winning bid, you cannot return the car as all sales are absolutely final. Some people have tried to get a reimbursement for a vehicle that turns out to be a “lemon,” yet this is extremely difficult to do because the car auction houses expect that bidders know exactly what they are getting themselves into before placing a bid.
Anyone who bids at public auto auctions also needs to keep in mind that you don’t only pay the amount of the winning bid. On top of the bid price, the winner must also pay a buyer’s premium that will equal anywhere from five to ten percent of the amount of the bid. This additional money pays for the services of the auction house and auctioneer. In most states, you will also need to pay for a license, registration and transfer fee.
If you are considering making a vehicle purchase at a public auto auction, then it is best if you take someone along with you who has a good understanding of motor vehicles and has the experience to quickly assess the condition of the vehicle you want to bid on. Used Car Auctions have a brief period of time for inspecting the vehicles that all bidders should take advantage of. With the proper understanding of the process and taking time to inspect the vehicle, you have a good chance of picking up a real bargain at a car auto auction.

A RemarkableWay To Save Hard Earned Cash On Vehicles Is By Way Of Car Auction Houses
February 18th, 2009    Subscribe To Our FeedIf you have watched many movies or television shows over the years, then you most likely have seen at least a few different scenes that are set at various types of auctions. Often, the main character is eager to buy a particular item at an art auction, an antique auction, or even a collector car auction. These auctions that feature classic Cars are often held at car auction houses, which are the businesses that handle auctioning off a wide variety of vehicles, from seized Cars to classic Cars and much, much more.
Some people who are not even particularly interested in buying a vehicle through a car auto auction still enjoy hanging around an auction house on the days that the auto auctions are running, just to take in the atmosphere of excitement and to do a bit of people watching. It can be a fascinating experience to watch the proceedings, especially if you have never before attended any type of used car auction. If there has been a vigorous round of bidding on a particular vehicle, then it can be electrifying when the auctioneer drops the gavel and pronounces the vehicle sold!
Car auction houses run all kinds of different motor Car Auctions on a regular basis. As a result, they have a great deal of experience and expertise in the field. At the same time, people who have never been to any kind of auction in the past can feel somewhat lost and bewildered the first time they venture into a car auto auction house.
Because of this, it is strongly recommended that first time auction goers, whether for antiques, collectibles and artwork, or for a public auto auction, attend at least one or two auctions in the role of observer and not as a bidder. Most of the car auction houses have an open door policy that allows spectators to come in and watch the proceedings; however, there may be restricted access to certain types of auctions.
The car auction house is not the seller of anything being sold. Instead, they are simply providing the services of the auctioneer, of registering the bidders, managing the auction and collecting the funds that are generated by the various motor Car Auctions that they host. If a person wins a bid on a vehicle, then they will pay the final bid price, as well as a percentage of the final price to the car auto auction house. This additional percentage is a fee that covers the expenses incurred by the auction house and is the main income source for these types of businesses.
Car auction houses are great places to go to if you are hoping to find a good deal on a vehicle. You will often find everything from motorcycles to recreational vehicles at some of the used Car Auctions. In addition to attending some public Car Auctions before you start bidding on automobiles yourself, you should also research the fair market value of any vehicles that you might want to bid on, beforehand.
